I did a quick search on the Black Heart of Innocence to see about any rituals that might exist to cultivate it and noticed that my last entry appeared in the first page of results on Google. a quick look through Wikipedia says that the presence of the Black Heart depends on the full presence of the Iron and Pearl Pentacles, which you do cultivate ( Read more... )

happy news. this Friday (technically, the early hours of Saturday) I sat down and worked on Honest John on the computer for the first time in seven months. on paper I had worked some on it (though just on part of one scene). as per my usual routine I put on Current 93 (the Halo album, straight through) and just worked on it.

since I last wrote I did sit down and write about half a scene of Honest John. the scene remains tricky. I want to make to try to have a character have a loss and blame it on John and at the same time make this scene tragic and not melodramatic. also I want to make it credible that this could happen without John getting expelled from Spray, ( Read more... )

last night I finished watching the anime Haibane-Renmei*, one of the original inspirations to thinking up Honest John, although I had not really watched it before and knew something of the plot though nothing of the plot or the characters.

FYI, I continue to work on Honest John. since I can't sit down and read the book or watch the movie I must write the book myself. also, a writing tip. "Spanish Lament" by The Durutti Column and pretty much anything by Current 93 make great background music for writing sad scenes. last night I wrote and listened to Current 93. when I listened to "All this World Makes Great Blood" by Current 93 off Halo the beauty of it compelled me to try ast least attempt to write something ( Read more... )
